Hello! My name is Collin
Genzlinger and I’m a Community Resource Consultant for
the Center for Leadership and Service. It is my
job to reach out into the Highline community and get
them involved in our program and what we do.
Statistics have shown that students who are involved in
extracurricular and co-curricular activities do better
with their academics. Here at Highline I’m
studying to get my Associates of Education degree and
then transfer to Central Washington University next
year. In my future, I hope to be a fun and
impactful teacher for the students of our society and
prepare them for their next steps in their academics.
My favorite part about my job is reaching out and
getting to know new people and being a part of a
community. Collin's favorite

Hi! My name is Melanie Shepherd, I am a Community
Resource Consultant (front desk team) at the Center for
Leadership and Service. I am pursuing my AAS in Business
and also Small Business Entrepreneurship with the hope
to someday open an Auto Shop with my husband of 10 years
who is a mechanic. I also eventually would like to open
a small Coffee Shop/Bakery. I love working with students
and connecting them with resources to promote their
academic success. In my spare time I like to do fun
activities with my 4 young children and go out with my
husband. “A good leader inspires people to have confidence in the leader, a great leader inspires people to have confidence in themselves” – Eleanor Roosevelt

Hey! I’m Mayra Mendoza and I’m a
Club and Leadership Consultant here at the Center for
Leadership and Service office. I’m majoring in
aeronautical engineering and hope to transfer to a
University (possibly UW) after I complete my AS. One of
the biggest goals I have is to earn a Ph. D. in my field
of study, and a slightly smaller goal is to study abroad
for a couple of years. I’m hoping to see places other
than Seattle! Probably the thing I like the most
about my job is meeting new people and sparking them
into becoming involved in the community. It’s great to
be able to see the leadership potential people have and
offer them opportunities in which they can further
develop them. One of my favorite quotes that I
live by is “the best thing about the future is that it
comes one day at a time” by Abraham Lincoln. It reminds
me to take life one day at a time and appreciate every
minute of it.

Rolando Sierra, call me Rolo. I’m a Community and
Leadership Consultant. I’m going for a major in Computer
Science. I hope to transfer to UW once I graduate from

back home and work there. But if the opportunity
presents itself, I’ll stay in Seattle and work here. Rolando's favorite leadership

Hi friends, My name is Svetlana Slobodchikova,
and I am a
Community & Leadership Consultant. It’s a very exciting
thing to be a student and a worker on campus, and here
at Highline I am getting my AA and planning to transfer

My name is Viet Dinh and I’m a
Community Leadership Consultant at the Center for
Leadership and Service. After spending a couple
years here at highline, I finally decided what I wanted
to do in the future; I’m double majoring in
Communications and Art, I’m good at both, so why not
make a career out of it. As a Community Leadership
Consultant, I get to use both while doing my job; I get
to use my communications skills and creativity to
communicate with club leaders and students around
school. My favorite part of my job is the fact
that I get to interact with so many students around this
campus and learn about the diversity of our school.
My hopes and goals for the future is pretty cliché, I
just want to be successful and happy in whatever I end
up doing. Viet's favorite leadership
